How Did Fally Ipupa Career Start
For a musician, there is nothing more memorable than when that big break happened in your career.
but before you and I get to Fally Ipupa’s big breakthrough, let’s take a look at some of the small moments.
Fally Ipupa started his career in the church choir. He sang and then joined other small groups including New Convenant in the early 90s.
However, it was his uniqueness and talent that paved the way for him when he was approached to join The Latent Talent (mind you this was like one of the most known groups back in the 90s).
While with The Latent Talent, he wrote songs and dropped an album that didn’t get that much attention.
Ipupa then joined the Koffi Olomude Quartier Latin International Group.
A group that played and headline shows in Europe and in Africa.
This was the defining moment for Fally’s career as it propelled him to greater heights especially after he became the leader of the Orchestra.
During this time Ipupa worked with Koffi Olomude on several songs like Effervescent.
He however exited the label to start his solo career in 2006 which led to the release of his debut studio album Droid Chemin.
This album sold more than 100K units worldwide and became one of his most successful projects to date.
In 2009 he dropped his second studio album Arsenal de Belles Melodies which was also a success.
