Top 20 Most Popular Musicians In America 2022

Okay, I will be straight with you, artists on this top 20 list are the general ones that I love the most.

However, I didn’t want to be biased so I have to call it as it is. By the way, Shawn Mendes is such a charm.

I mean I am still very much enjoying the song When You’re Gone by Shawn Mendes.

20. Shawn Mendes

This music icon brings a unique touch to the table. Mende’s mastery of expressing different stories through words and music is unrivaled.

You may admire him for his unconventionality in the song “There Is Nothing Holding Me Back,” his flamboyance in “Senorita,” or his sense of humor in “Treat You Better.”

When it comes to music, Shawn has an incredible range and depth.

So far, he has recorded four albums and is the youngest male artist to have four Billboard 200 number one albums.

Also, if you have not listened to When You’re Gone, then you are missing a good song.

21. Chris Brown

Chris has been in the industry for around two decades and is still becoming more coveted like a beautiful old wine.

In 2004, he released his first album. Chris’ first single, “Run It,” debuted at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

His consistency has made him outshine more than most of his peers with many albums. But, whatever his personal life may be, the Grammy-winning singer is the most real and passionate when it comes to music.

He is also one of few artists who can make a career by singing ballads and rapping.

As a result, he has won over 200 awards, including three Grammys, four American Music Awards, five BET Awards, 14 Billboard Music Awards, eight Soul Train Music Awards, and six MTV Video Music Awards.

This talented performer will continue to make history as long as he keeps making good music.

Also, I covered a piece where I compared his, Drake, Justin Bieber, and Eminem’s net worth. It’s an amazing piece, be sure to check it out.

22. Bad Bunny

Bad Bunny – better known as Alberto Aguilera, Jr., is a Puerto Rican Latin trap and reggaeton singer who won a Latin Grammy for Best Urban Music Album for his 2017 X100PRE, which he recorded in just three days.

Bunny rose to prominence with songs like Si Tu Novio Te Deja Sola, Mayores, and Solo de Mi.

He has over 1 billion views on YouTube, making him one of Latin America’s most-viewed musicians on the platform.

His concert tour around North and South America made him one of Billboard’s Most Influential Latin Artists. In 2022, Bad Bunny’s single Krippy Kush will crack into Billboard’s Top 100 chart.

23. FUTURE

Future’s climb to success began with his debut single Tony Montana, released in early 2012.

The track, which originally appeared on DJ Esco’s ‘No Sleep’ mixtape, became a hit when it was officially remixed by rapper Lil Wayne and added to iTunes.

To date, Tony Montana has sold over 2 million digital copies. A subsequent appearance on YC’s ‘Racks On Racks’ helped Future land a record deal with Epic Records.

His debut album Pluto was released in April 2012 and charted at 5 on the Billboard 200, selling over 82,000 copies in its first week.

The album has since been certified Gold by RIAA for sales exceeding 500,000 copies. Future is one of the most popular artists we have today.

24. Lil Baby

Lil Baby’s songs are well-known for their explicit lyrics and party themes. Although he was born in Alabama, Lil Baby spent most of his youth in Atlanta, where he started his music career.

After moving to Macon, Georgia, he recorded some tracks with Chicago producer Zaytoven and released them on SoundCloud.

When these songs went viral, a bidding war ensued between multiple record labels, which resulted in him signing with Motown Records.

He has been involved in multiple high-profile feuds (most notably with Chief Keef) but has only recently begun to release music commercially.

His debut album Harder Than Ever debuted at number 5 on Billboard 200 Chart upon its release and has already spawned three top 20 hits.

25. Lil Durk

Lil Durk has released a total of four albums in his career. He is from Chicago, Illinois, and is still in his late twenties.

His L’s Anthem was ranked #9 on Hot Rap Songs by late 2018 and has been played at least 230 million times on Spotify alone.

In November 2018, Durk signed a multi-million dollar contract with Roc Nation making him one of their most prominent artists.

He is expected to sell over 45 million records by 2022 and earn an estimated $18 million that year alone.

Oh, I almost forgot to tell you that I wrote an article comparing Dababy, Lil Baby, Lil Durk, and NBA YoungBoy’s net worth.

You definitely want to check it out because it is an eye-opener.

28. Demi Lovato

Demi Lovato began her career as an actress. But, it was time to take music seriously after acting in a few TV episodes and films.

Demi recorded a movie playback for the film “Camp Rock” as their first song, rather than a single or an EP.

It debuted at number nine on the Billboard Hot 100, and as a result, it signed with Hollywood Records and released its first album, “Don’t Forget,” in 2008.

It quickly became popular, reaching number two on the Billboard 200. Since then, the two-time Grammy nominee has released seven albums, the most recent of which being Dancing with the Devil.
